Entries to be completed and submitted by Studio Head/Admin of registered studios only.
Please note that OTS is powered by Dance Comp Genie. Dancers and studios will be notified by email and Whats App when entries open. Please also follow our Instagram and Facebook pages for updates.

Contestants and teachers understand that by entering an On The Stage Dance Festival event they give their permission and consent to the directors of the competition to use their photographic images and/or videos, or any other electronic media for advertising, or any other commercial use, of OTS events.
ENTRY FEES

An additional R150 per dancer per item will be charged for late entries. Late entries will only be considered under special conditions.
Teachers Please Note: Teachers will receive FREE entry bands according to the number of pupils entered into the Festival.

1 – 15 Dancers – 1 band

16 – 30 Dancers – 2 bands

31 – 45 Dancers – 3 bands

46 – 60 Dancers – 4 bands
No entries will be processed without full payment.
Entry fees are not refundable should a participant need to withdraw or cancel for any reason.
CLOSING DATE
Entries close 4 weeks from day 1 of the festival.

A routine deemed to be entered into the incorrect style will be moved to the correct style category and marked accordingly by the adjudicators.
Clothing/costumes must be age appropriate & suit the style & character of the dance.

- TAP (There is no guarantee on floor surface & sound for tapping & there are no tapping microphones)

- PAX DE DEUX/ADAGE (Any style – must have 4 or more lifts in the choreography)

- ACRO & GYMNASTICS DANCE (Must include at least 50% of dance moves with minimum of 30% acro/gym moves)
​
- ETHNIC & FOLK (Includes Kwaito, Afro, Zulu, Scottish, Irish, Spanish, Bhangra/Bollywood etc)

- OPEN (Fusion of any dance style or style not mentioned)
​
- LATIN (Includes Cha Cha, Samba, Paso, Jive, Rumba, Salsa) – Solo, Couples, Groups & Showdance/Exhibition permitted

- BALLROOM (Includes Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, Quickstep, Argentine Tango, Boogie, Rock ‘n Roll, Sokkie). Showdance/Exhibition permitted
No more than 3 lifts allowed in any item unless Pax de Deux/Adage where 4 or more lifts have to be shown, or Acro/Gymnastics where lifts are unlimited. A lift is considered to be any move where your partner/team mate has both feet off the floor and is being supported by another dancer/s
LEVELS
Levels are entered at the Teacher’s discretion
Adjudicators have the discretion to move a dancer up or down into the correct level if deemed necessary based on the dancer’s performance on the day. Your results will automatically be moved to the correct section
- Nouveau Talent – Newcomer/First Timer and has never danced in a festival before – can only be danced once

- Petit (Level 1) – A dancer who has participated in minimal festivals and competitions and has danced for 1-2 years
​
- Demi (Level 2) – A dancer who has participated in several festivals and competitions and has danced for 3-4 years
​
- Grande (Level 3) – A championship competitive dancer who has competed in multiple festivals and championship competitions
​
- Combattant – Special Needs – Mobility, Intellectual, Visual or Hearing Impaired
AGE GROUPS
Age is determined on the day of the event

- Juvenile (up to and including 7yrs)
- Junior (8-13 years)
- Senior (14 years and over)
Duo/Trio, Small Group, Team & Production – Enter average combined age on the day of event

AWARDS
Each contestant will receive an electronic report sheet, medal and an electronic certificate of achievement - according to the following results:
​
- Bronze Medal = 60 - 64%
- Crown Bronze = 65 - 69%
- Silver Medal = 70 - 74%
- Crown Silver = 75 - 79%
- Gold Medal = 80 – 84%
- Crown Gold = 85 - 89%
- Crown Jewel = 90 -100%
​
Prize giving for medals & special awards will be held after each session, as per the programme
GENERAL RULES
-
No photographs/Videos allowed during performances. Photos are permitted during prize giving.

A professional photographer will be on site & photographs may be ordered at the event.
-
Props will be allowed if carried on & off the stage by the contestant (no assistance allowed – except 13/under who may have one person assisting)
-
Dancer has 10 seconds to prepare on stage & ten seconds to exit the stage with all props
-
No props are allowed which might litter the floor eg. Liquids, sprays, gels, glitter, confetti etc.

Adjudicators decision is final and no discussion, verbal or other, will be entertained at the event
-
Any dancer who fails to complete their entire performance/item for any reason eg Medical, nerves etc. will not be permitted to re-dance & will forfeit their item
-
Special Requests for performance dates or times cannot be considered – dancers must be available to dance on all the days of the event.
